Lively Beach Resort: A Review on the new Texas Coast Resort
Are you ready for the nicest beach resort just minutes from Port Aransas and Corpus Christi? Welcome to the Lively Beach Resort! Built right in the middle of Mustang Island State Park, with private access to the beach and the nicest resort-style pool are just a couple of reasons to stay. Read the full review below!
The Lively Beach Resort was just recently built (opened July 2020) just four minutes from the Corpus Christi causeway. You enter Mustang Island and the resort is tucked away in the middle of the state park. There are miles between you and the next hotel with makes it seem even more exclusive.
The COVID 19 precautions are top notch and that’s what was most important to us. No need to check in at the front desk, they email you your gate code and room code. The condo-style hotel rooms are cleaned and sanitized meticulously between each stay. We sanitized everything again upon entering and the lack of ANYTHING on my wipes just showed how sparkly clean it was!
The biggest perk: private access to the beach! Like a ton Mustang Island rentals and Port Aransas hotels, you have to golf cart or drive to get to the beach. No need here, a short little walk on the boardwalk and you are there. We were surprised how clean and soft the sand was! Hot but the ocean temperature was just right. Note to guests: you need to bring your own towels and chairs if you want to sit on the beach.
Our next favorite things: the resort-style pool AND rooftop deck. Holy moly. The pool! We LOVED the pool. We’d go to the beach and once we were too hot we’d walk 5 minutes to the Lively Beach pool. It is HUGE. Cabanas (that don’t cost an arm and a leg…. they’re free) and a swim up island in the middle and plenty of chairs and chaises. And when you’re tired of the water and just want to take in the views you can head up to the rooftop decks. Stunning views for miles with great outdoor lighting and modern furniture. You can even grill at the pool or deck!
On to the rooms. They are so cute! Modern Beach Chic is what I called them all trip long. My husband would have been ready to buy a condo here if that was a possibility. They are condo-style rooms with kitchens, dining room, extra bathrooms and a deck. SO DANG CHIC. We loved the 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo we stayed in but looking at the photos, each one is just as good. We enjoyed having a coffee maker, bowls and pans, a nice-sized fridge and all the Samsung tvs! The bathrooms are nice and modern and will stay that way for years to come. Walk in showers, with nice toiletries and modern touches. Beds were super comfy and there were plenty of soft pillows and blankets. We were not in the room much but when we were, it was extremely relaxing. Our deck looked off to the beach and the channel. We could see a bit of the ocean and the wind surfers the first day. We loved that!
A follower on instagram asked if we would be back, and I gave a big thumbs up! Clean, modern and on the beach with a pool. It checked all our must haves for a beach vacation. Quick favorites for eats and treats in the area:
Coffee:
Island Jos (5 minutes from Lively Beach) – Island Joes Coffee is a coffee shop and gallery on North Padre Island. Great coffee and an even better cinnamon roll!
Starbucks (5 minutes from Lively Beach) – a new Starbucks is right off the causeway and it is so nice!! Outdoor seating on the bay and great customer service!
Coffee Waves (Cinnamon Shore Location is 15 minutes from Lively Beach) – local Port Aransas coffee shop. We’ve been going to the Port A location for years and were so excited to see a new shop!
Eats:
Trout Street (20 minutes from Lively Beach) – our favorite seafood restaurant on the island. It’s good every time. No reservations so you’ll likely have a wait but we always walk around the marina anyways. Some nights have live music so you’ll stay occupied!
Black Marlin Grill & Red’s (15 minutes from Lively Beach) Dinner at Black Marlin Grill and drinks on Red’s patio we’re a fantastic choice to check out the new area. Excellent crab salad!
Lisabella’s (15 minutes from Lively Beach) We haven’t had the chance to eat here yet but it’s on our list for our next trip. The reviews are so good!
C Bar Cafe (15 minutes from Lively) We eat lunch at C Bar Cafe every trip. It’s fresh easy and right by the pool!
La Isla (5 minutes from Lively) The La Isla breakfast tacos are bomb dot com.
