How to Make a Home Office Boost Creativity

Home Office Creativity Tips | Hi Lovely

Creativity is always welcomed, especially for artists or writers who work from home a lot. However, we all fall into a creative rut sometimes, and our home offices might not be helping us.

If you stick to a strict mold with your interior, it could be stunting how creative you are. A free and inspiring surrounding is crucial to getting the most out of your skill, no matter what your skill is.

Here are a few design a few tips on how to keep your creative levels high.

Color is important

We know, you might think that plain walls and interior is like a blank canvas. Sure, for some this might free up your mind and give you a variety of new ideas, but for the most part, color is super important.

Take a look at artist’s studios – they all have an array of color and shapes surrounding them.

Find the colors that inspire you, and splash them across your walls. Perhaps even draw or paint on your own walls – you can always change it later.

Display your tools

Perhaps you use paintbrushes or woodworking tools, you should showcase these as decoration. They might act as a slight push towards you finishing your work. Graphic designer? Showcase graphically please art. Maybe music gives you the creative boost. Decorate with your favorite instruments.

Incorporate your work into your décor, and you’ll not only feel motivated, but you might get a little bit of a creative push.

Make fun easy

Fun and games always inspire creativity. Don’t be afraid to incorporate fun and games into your house or condo.

Whether it’s board games, video games, a tennis racket or a VR headset. Make sure that you have a little bit of downtime. Make it accessible in your home, and you’ll always have a little bit of rest and enjoyment. Most Fortune 500 offices are requiring game time during the work day to break up the day and give your brain a rest.

Choose office furniture based on your work

If you’re an artist or a crafter, you should look into purchasing furniture that can be, well, ruined. Your work desk or table shouldn’t be a piece that you can’t get messy or scratch. Go for a second-hand piece, or even craft furniture yourself.

If you have children, having furniture that doesn’t warrant a punishment when it gets ruined can also help. This will encourage creativity, and prevent any kind of limits.

If you are doing computer work and this is a kid-free zone, then pick furniture that is functional but comfortable. My husband prefers a standing desk but I’m a traditionalist at home. I prefer a gorgeous piece that’s a statement and a comfortable, plush office chair.

What are some tips that you have to help with a creative space? Do you hang your own artwork or showcase your achievements? Do you need your space peaceful and tidy or messy and with music playing?

Designing a creative home office only proves how individuality plays a part in your house. No space and no person is the same, what works for one person might not work for the other. Keep that in mind when you’re searching around for inspiration.
