Activated Charcoal in my Hair? Yes Please!
If you know me, you know how much my hair means to me. It’s taken me 30 years to grow it this long. When I was pregnant I had this billowing Victoria’s Secret hair and six months postpartum I lost it all. The vibrancy, the texture and the thickness. Then a year ago a stylist chemically burned my hair and a huge chunk of my hair fell off. I was devastated. If you really know me, you know I’m obsessed with hair products. I’d take a good shampoo over a contour kit any day. Give me anything to strengthen and soften my hair!
When I got the chance to test out Pantene’s new Charcoal Collection I was so excited! I’ve tried high end charcoal shampoos and loved them. It’s nice to see a line that everyone can afford!
Why does activated charcoal need to be in a shampoo you might ask? It gently purifies by absorbing impurities while releasing antioxidants, leaving hair refreshed and clean. I use charcoal on my skin for this reason so why not in my hair?!
My hair normally gets weighed down and I can only go a day without washing. I’ve been using this collection for three weeks now and can honestly say I can go 2-3 days without washing. (And without looking greasy!) I can brush my hair right after the shower without a tangled mess. And that never happens.
The Pantene Charcoal Collection shampoo is silicone-free, and free of parabens and dyes. It is loaded with nutrients like pro vitamin B5 and antioxidants in addition to the activated charcoal to cleanse and remove impurities. My hair feels soft after shampooing while most shampoos are quite the opposite.
The Charcoal Collection also includes Pantene’s first ever silicone-free conditioner! It is also free of parabens and dyes and contains pro-vitamin B5, white charcoal and antioxidants – nutrient rich, indeed.
After testing this collection I can honestly say it’s on par with the high-end charcoal lines. It quite possibly could be better. Try it for yourself and pick it up at Target because for a limited time, Target is having an in-store and online promotion, where you earn a $5 gift card after purchasing a select number of Pantene Charcoal Collection products. It won’t set you back a fortune and I bet you won’t be disappointed.
