Mason Jars and Sweet Wedding Shower

What a weekend! Another trip to Kentucky ended so well and I cannot wait to be a part of this family.

My sweet family-to-be threw Chris and I the cutest shower on Saturday afternoon at the Fair Dealing Church of Christ. (Cutest church, ever btw! If that even matters…)

The ENTIRE Kentucky family came! Is that crazy or what?! We had 37 people come to shower us with love and laughter. Lots and lots of laughter! My soon-to-be parents, brother, sister and the cutest nephew travelled over 1,000 miles to attend, too. If that isn’t love, I don’t know what is!

We ate damn good BBQ, homemade slaw, beans and tomatoes and cucumbers picked from a family member’s garden. (Their gardens here look like farms. They are HUGE!) The tomatoes were my favorite. I’ll be trying to pickle them once I’m in the new house.

Oh, did I mention we ate a CHEVRON cake?!!! I almost died. (For all you out-of-the-loopers, chevron is not the gas or gas station, its a fancy work for zig zags. Stupid, I know.) Leslie is a phenomenal baker. Oh my word, it was so delicious. She also made butterfinger pie and Oreo pie this weekend, too. Thankfully I’m starting LIFETIME’s 90 day challenge today to work it all off!

At the end of the weekend, I am so happy to say we are so blessed. Again. I say it a lot but its true – we have two amazing families. Thanks for everyone that helped put this on. Leia and Karen did all the decorating and grunt work. Kaye and Megan helped with all the set up and Leslie knocked it outta the park with the cake!

Can’t wait till our next adventure with the Kentucky crew,

Erin
